The Nerdy Difference

Preparation
Rénovation is chaotic in nature. Mistakes are inevitable. We believe the only way to succeed is to overprepare before construction even starts.
Ergonomics
Pretty designs are not enough. We make sure each project is designed thoughtfully with intentional ergonomics and functionality. (Light simulation we did for a project).

Discipline
We do not underbid. We do not overpromise timeline. We own up to our mistakes. We win projects because we will do the right thing.
How we work
Step 1 - Introductory Zoom Call
We start with a conversation — no pressure, no sales pitch. Our goal is to understand your renovation objectives, project scope, priorities, and how we can help. This is where we start aligning expectations and vision.
Step 2 - Estimates & Scope Confirmation
Using what we learn in the first call, we prepare rough estimates based on your initial scope of work. This gives you a quick sense of budget fit. We'll also reconfirm the project scope and budget alignment before moving forward — transparency first.
Step 3 - 3D Site Scan
Next, our field team performs a detailed 3D scan of your property. This gives us a precise digital model to work from, enabling accurate calculations and more informed design decisions. We'll use this scan to refine scope, improve cost accuracy, and provide an initial 3D rendering so you can better visualize your renovation.
Step 4 - Formal Quotes & Contracts
Once scope and budget are aligned, we provide detailed formal quotes and contract documents — everything clear and in writing. No surprises.
Step 5 - Nerdy Overplanning Begins
Before construction starts, we dive deep into preparation: detailed scheduling, logistics planning, materials coordination, and design validation. The goal: a smooth, disciplined build process with fewer headaches for everyone.
Testimonial

Alex and Lena bought a home in Burlingame and needed help with their bathrooms and some minor custom work around the house. We spent extra time with them on the 3D renderings and the design process to help them visualize the project.
"Price point, over communication, project management, transparency, rigor. I think you guys are by far the best"
— Alex & Lena, Burlingame
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a typical renovation project take?
+Project timelines vary based on scope and complexity. A bathroom renovation typically takes 3-4 weeks, while a kitchen might take 4-6 weeks. Full home renovations can range from 3-6 months. During our initial consultation, we'll provide a detailed timeline specific to your project.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
+Yes, we manage the entire permitting process. Our team prepares all necessary documentation, submits applications, and coordinates with local building departments. We also schedule and manage all required inspections throughout the project to ensure everything meets code requirements.
How do you handle unexpected issues during renovation?
+Transparency is key. When we encounter unexpected issues (like hidden water damage or structural problems), we immediately notify you, explain the situation, provide options with clear pricing, and recommend the best course of action. We never proceed with additional work without your approval.
What types of payment plans do you offer?
+We typically work with a milestone-based payment schedule. This includes an initial deposit, followed by payments at key project stages. We don't require full payment upfront, allowing you to pay as the project progresses. For larger projects, we can discuss customized payment plans to fit your needs.
Do you provide warranties on your work?
+Absolutely. We offer a 1-year warranty on all workmanship and installation. Additionally, all products and materials come with their respective manufacturer warranties, which we pass directly to you. We're committed to quality and stand behind our work long after project completion.
